BLANCHESTER — Because of injuries, Blanchester played seven non-seniors Thursday in a Southern Buckeye Conference girls tennis match against Western Brown. The Lady Cats were defeated 5-0 by “one of the best teams in the American Division of the SBC,” BHS coach Matt Sexton said. “The girls competed very well against great competition,” said Sexton. “First doubles continues to get better every time they step on the court. Kelsey and King are a very good doubles team and I thought Kristol and Hanna played a great match against them.” Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (2) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 19 |

FELICITY — The Blanchester girls tennis team defeated Felicity 4-1 Wednesday in a Southern Buckeye Conference match. “I’m really pleased with the way we battled on a hot day,” said BHS coach Matt Sexton. Miranda Fawley “showed incredible toughness to gut out a win,” said Sexton. The coach also praised the play of Chelsea Wisniewski and Jennifer Rineair, who played well despite “the lack of tennis they’ve played lately.” Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (5) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 37 |

BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester girls tennis team dropped a 5-0 non-league match to Hillsboro Tuesday on the BHS courts. “I am really pleased with the progress we continue to make,” BHS coach Matt Sexton said. “We played a team with mostly seniors in the lineup and we competed well. The results of the matches at this point in our development are not as important as how we are playing. The girls are getting better every time we step on the court.” Blanchester is 1-2 on the year. BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester girls tennis team opened Southern Buckeye Conference play with a 5-0 win Monday over Batavia. “I was really pleased with how we played in our first regular match,” said BHS coach Matt Sexton. “Miranda (Fawley) got stronger as the match went on and played a great second set. “Jennifer (Rineair) and Alana (Florea) both had to battle to win three-set matches. Both of them are extremely tough mentally and that helped them in the deciding set. Both doubles teams fought through some tough patches to each pick up very good wins.” Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (3) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 96 |
