BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester High School tennis team defeated Batavia 4-1 in Southern Buckeye Conference action on Monday.
The Lady Wildcats are now 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the league. “This is probably the biggest win we’ve had in the last few years. Batavia is a very good team. I’m so proud of all my girls,” said BHS head coach Matt Sexton. Katie Fawley pulled out a strong three-set match winning 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 at second singles, while third singles player Lindsay martin battled to a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) win. “Katie really dug deep to gut out that win. She is so tough to beat in those long matches,” said Sexton. Lindsay also played very well. Picking up both doubles wins was huge.” SUMMARY SINGLES Nikki Staton (Bat) def.
