BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester High School tennis team picked up a close 3-2 win over Western Brown in Southern Buckeye Conference action on Thursday.
BHS is now 7-1 on the season and 6-1 in league play. BHS got a tough second singles win from Katie Fawley who won in three sets. At third singles, Lindsay Martin picked up a close win. Also, Sarah Cioca and Karen Wilson teamed up to win at first doubles. “Overall it wasn’t our best match, but a win is a win. Katie battled hard to win the clinching match. Lindsay also played well in victory. It was good to have the league’s best doubles team healthy and playing well again,” said BHS head coach Matt Sexton. Fawley and Martin are both 8-0 on the season.
