Blanchester began a tough week with a 13-stroke victory over Leesburg Fairfield in boys golf action at the Elks Golf Club. The Wildcats shot 156 while the Lions came in with a 169 while playing the par 36 back nine. The final outcome was the closest nine-hole match of the season for Blanchester, coach Aaron Lawson said. The Blanchester golf team had little trouble in defeating four schools the past couple of days. On Thursday, the Wildcats shot 160 and knocked off Lynchburg-Clay (198) and Ripley (201) at Whiteoak Golf Club. Travis Jackson earned medalist honors for a second straight day by shooting a 38 on the front nine of the par 35 layout. AMELIA — The Blanchester golf team defeated a pair of Southern Buckeye Conference teams Monday at Lindale Golf Course. Led by two of three match medalists, the Wildcats shot a 163 while New Richmond came in with a 176 and Goshen carded a 195. Travis Jackson and Miles Burton both shot 39s for the Wildcats and shared medalist honors with Tyler Flood of New Richmond. JAMESTOWN — Blanchester knocked off Greeneview and Triad Thursday in a non-league golf match here at Sebastian Hills Golf Course. The Wildcats came in with a 159 total while Triad scored 159 and Greeneview had a 171. Grant Ledford, despite a pair of double bogeys, led the Wildcats with a 1-over 36, a career best score for nine holes.
