The Blanchester eighth grade girls basketball team won the Southern Buckeye Conference North Division championship this season. The young Lady Cats were 10-8 overall and were defeated by New Richmond, 30-22, in the SBC North/South championship game. In that game, Marie Lawson led Blanchester with seven points. Sam Parker scored six and Sydney Doughman put through four points. Courtney Lucas contributed three points and Alana Florea chipped in with two points. The Blanchester eighth grade girls basketball team will play New Richmond Wednesday for the Southern Buckeye Conference tournament championship. The game will be played at Blanchester Junior High School. After winning the regular season championship, Blanchester won the North Division tournament title with a win over Batavia, 36-27. BLANCHESTER — Georgetown capped an unbeaten Southern Buckeye Conference National Division season with a 55-33 win Saturday over Blanchester in girls basketball action. Blanchester is 12-7 overall and 9-5 in the division. Georgetown is 19-1 overall and 15-0 in division play. The Lady G-Men jumped out to a 19-2 first quarter lead and never looked back.
