BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester High School girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season Tuesday, defeating Felicity 55-24 in Southern Buckeye Conference action.

BHS is now 1-2 on the season and 1-0 in league play. The Lady Wildcats held FHS to just two points in the second half en route to the win. “We started out early in the ball game and played well. We came out the first quarter and played with good intensity. We built a lead and continued doing that in the second quarter. We were up 28-12 and we relaxed the rest of the half they scored 10 to end the half,” said BHS head coach Jason Gray. “We were only up six at the half. Becca Brooks scored 10 points in the third quarter to help,” said Gray. “Overall, it was nice to get the first win out of the way and get the first SBC win. wWe have to be ready to continue in league play against Batavia.” Brooks led the team in scoring with 15 points, while Jennifer Rineair scored 11.
