BHS is now 1-2 on the season and 1-0 in league play.

The Lady Wildcats held FHS to just two points in the second half en route to the win.

“We started out early in the ball game and played well. We came out the first quarter and played with good intensity. We built a lead and continued doing that in the second quarter. We were up 28-12 and we relaxed the rest of the half they scored 10 to end the half,” said BHS head coach Jason Gray. “We were only up six at the half. At half time, we said we had to make the decision to play defense and rebound and the girls really took that to heart and we played with the intensity we need to play with every single night.”

The Lady Wildcats went on to shut out Felicity in the third quarter, and allowed just two points in the fourth.

“We did a great job defensively. Becca Brooks scored 10 points in the third quarter to help,” said Gray. “Overall, it was nice to get the first win out of the way and get the first SBC win. wWe have to be ready to continue in league play against Batavia.”

Brooks led the team in scoring with 15 points, while Jennifer Rineair scored 11.

Chelsea Wisniewski led the team with nine assists, while Emily McCollister made four while making six steals. Jenna Weisflock and Andrea Kuhnell each pulled down seven rebounds.

BHS returns to action 7:30 p.m. at home on Saturday when the team hosts Batavia. The JV game will begin at 6 p.m.
