BHS is now 2-5 on the season and 2-3 in the league while CNE improves to 7-0 on the season and 5-0 in the SBC.

“In the first half, we blew an opportunity to be ahead a whole lot more with about 15 turnovers. Had we taken better care of the basketball, we could have been ahead double-digits at half time,” said BHS head coach Bennie Carroll. “In the second half, the third quarter was kind of nip-and-tuck. They scored first in the fourth and were up by seven, and at that point, we had to start playing man-to-man and Jake Terry is took quick for us. At that point, the game kind of got away from us. Through three quarters, it was a very good ball game. In that fourth quarter, we kind of ran out of gas.”

Blanchester was led by Nash Ballinger with 14 points in the effort, followed by Steven White with 11.

“I thought Nash Ballinger played pretty well for most of the game. He hit a couple of threes. He played a pretty good game,” said Carroll. “I thought our transition was good in the first half. We passed the ball well at times. We were pretty aggressive offensively. In the second half when they got ahead of us, I wasn’t realy pleased with our defense. We came out pretty well and played a pretty good game.”

The Wildcats return to action 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Batavia in SBC play.
