GREENEVIEW — The Blanchester High School baseball team didn’t think it had a game to play on Wednesday morning. But Wednesday afternoon, the Wildcats picked up a game at Greeneview. Unfortunately, it resulted in a 9-1 loss for the Wildcats who were without two players.
BHS is now 0-1 on the season. “This is a brand new field, so it was a little rough, but both teams were on the same field. We just didn’t play very well. We weren’t too focused. I don’t think they were ready to play,” said BHS head coach Eddie Pagett. “Hopefully we will do better against Madeira.” Jordan Williams took the loss on the mound for the Wildcats. “We need to swing the bats a little more. We had seven called third strikes. We took too many pitches with two srikes. We made two or three errors. We just didn’t play any phase of the game well. Hoepfully that was the learning experience,” said the coach. Blanchester will host Madeira 4:30 p.m. today in its home-opener.
