OWENSVILLE — The Blanchester baseball team won a nail-biter at Clermont Northeastern Monday, 5-3.
The game was tied going into the last inning, but the Wildcats plated two runs, capping off a hard-fought battle with the Rockets and sealing the victory. Donald Rhinehimer was the winning pitcher for the Wildcats. He threw a complete game, striking out six. Leading hitters were Justin Creager, who was two for four with a double, and Rhinehimer, who had two hits in his three at-bats. “We hit the ball hard a lot of times and didn’t get anything out of it,” said head coach Eddie Pagett. “Donald pitched better than he has.” Blanchester is now 2-7 overall and 2-2 in the SBC. Today, the Wildcats will play their 10th straight game on the road, as they will travel to Goshen.
