ANTWERP -- Below are the 2008 Antwerp Archers girls and boys track and field previews.

-----

Antwerp girls:

Head coach: Cord Ehrhart

Last year: 4th in GMC

Returning lettermen: Amber Baumert, Katie Brown, Tiffany Copsey, Rose Doctor, Liz Foust, Alexis Godeke, Erin Hughes, Katie Reinhart, Kole Schlatter, Mickae Schlatter, Aly Skeens, Jen Womack, Tori Womack, Brittany Black.

Promising newcomers: Ashley Schilb, Michele Stuart, Jessie Arnold, Taylor Vail, Desiree Delgado, Sierra Short, and "many more".

Strengths: "Numbers. We have the largest girls team I have ever coached at Antwerp".

Weaknesses: "I don't see very many right now but I'm sure some will come up. We do have a lot of new girls but there are just as many experienced girls to help them adjust".

Overall outlook: "We were fourth in the GMC and had a competitive squad last year with 14 girls. We are substantially larger this season and they are all talented girls".

League outlook: "I think we can be the surprise of the GMC".

-----

Antwerp boys:

Head coach: Cord Ehrhart

Last year: 6th in GMC

Lettermen lost: Nate Cross, Challen Stewart, Clay Franklin

Returning lettermen: Zach Arnold, Brian Bashore, Cody Bok, Jared DeLong, Nate Gerencser, Chris Henry, Hayden Krick, Josh Smith, Spencer Timbrook, Zach Walk, Tom Zuber, Josh Laney, Jake Reinhart, Travis Woodard

Promising newcomers: Dylan Crawford, Nick Berry, Josh Hilton.

Strengths: "I think our middle distance and distance kids are going to have a good season. Combined with our hurdle group, we should be strong".

Weaknesses: "We are this season from a sprint perspective. We hope to have relays that can compete the end of the season".

Overall outlook: "I feel our boys can put up some big numbers. We are usually a tough squad and we still fit that description".

League outlook: "I think the GMC will be wide open. It should be interesting when May 16th rolls around".
