FINDLAY - The Antwerp Lady Archers entered the 2008 regional softball tournament in Findlay on a mission. After being sent home in 2007 with a setback to Crestview, the Lady Archers wanted to prove this time around that they belong. Mission accomplished! After destroying Patrick Henry by an 11-0 count Wednesday evening, the Lady Archers have set themselves up for a possible rematch with Crestview, who plays New Riegel tonight in the other regional semi-final game. The Antwerp girls combined a tenacious pitching performance by Bryn Schlatter, along with an explosive offense to gain the big win. While the Lady Archers (22-7) scored 11 runs in the first two frames, Schlatter again proved why she is one of the Van Wert area's premier pitchers. The senior standout allowed only two hits in the five-inning shutout, while boasting 10 strikeouts and one walk. Kole Schlatter led Antwerp with a single, double and three RBIs, while Bashore added a single and double. Loni Walk and Amanda Riebersal each had a double. Antwerp now awaits the winner of today's matchup between New Riegel (18-8) and top-ranked Convoy Crestview (24-1) to determine Saturday's (12:00 noon) championship pairing.
