Anna’s Koppin named Player of the Year

Anna’s Zach Koppin is the Shelby County League Player of the Year in boys golf, thanks to his scoring in the dual meets and the recent county tournament.

He was one of four golfers from Anna to earn spots on one of the first two teams.

Anna shared the overall league championship with Russia, which also had four players on the first two teams.

Joining Koppin from Anna were Nick Overbey, tournament medalist Luke Kindelin and Brandyn Heitman. The first three made the first team and Heitman the second.

Representing Russia on the team are Derek Francis, Corey Bremigan, Nathan Wilson and Joe Monnin. Francis and Bremigan earned first-team honors.

Houston put two players on the team in Zach Kiehl and Travis Oberlander, both on the second team, and Fort Loramie and Botkins one each. Botkins’ Eric Ambos earned a spot on the first team, and Loramie’s Frank Boerger on the second.
