Delphos Jefferson Football Coach Damon Ulm steps down PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 11 December 2008
DELPHOS -- In what was a shocker to most area football fans, Delphos Jefferson Head Football Coach Damon Ulm is stepping down after just six seasons as the varsity coach. Ulm's record to date is 32-29, coming off a 9-2 playoff campaign in 2008. The reason for stepping down was a personal one, as Ulm wants to finish up his administrative degree to become a school principle and he also desires to spend more time with his family. Ulm was named the VW-Area Football Coach of the Year twice, in 2006 and 2008.

Delphos Stadium Park Football Field getting facelift PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 23 November 2008
DELPHOS -- Work to move the football field at Stadium Park is underway. The sod has been moved to the baseball diamond north of the field and workers are now laying the new drainage system. The project will be tackled in three phases: Phase I includes moving the existing football playing field approximately 10 feet north to allow more space for handicapped accessibility and more generous sidelines. Drainage and irrigation systems will be installed and new sod will be laid over a sand base as the field is recrowned. More than 1,000 tons of sand will be brought in and mixed with existing topsoil for the project. In addition, artificial grass will be installed on both sidelines to prevent deterioration where teams stand during games. Phase I will cost $300,000. Donations of all types are welcome.
